Keli Lucas is a New York City based classical and modern painter with creative aspirations and contributions as a fashion stylist, poet, music and indie film producer. After dropping out from SVA (School of Visual Arts), majoring in Fine/Studio Arts, where she honed her skills and knowledge of painting and figure drawing, she has been invited back as an instructor. Some of her influences include, Frida Kahlo, Marilyn Minter, De Kooning and Gustav Klimt. Keli’s love for using human beings as her subjects, lends to her ability to capture emotion with just a few brush strokes. Keli’s goal is to inspire other female artists who may not feel that they have the support of their community to explore the arts.
Keli Lucas focuses on depicting the soul behind the eyes of those who she feels enlightens her. Drawing inspiration from the cacophony of light and color of New York City. Often bringing excitement to events and shows by quickly capturing the face of a live model in front of an audience. Keli believes it is a collaboration between the audience, the musician and the model’s energy with her own.
Beyond being featured in exhibition shows nationwide, she has been published in WHITEHOT Magazine, Artnet, Quiet Lunch Magazine, CREATIV Magazine, Le’tage Magazine, Nasty Magazine, Posture Magazine and more. Lucas has created murals for brands such as Pabst Blue Ribbon, The Notorious, Our Voice organization and the Sure We Can Environmental Organization. As well as working with nonprofits such as The SAFE Foundation, Magen David of Manhattan, Our Voice Organization, Green County Council on the Arts, Reach For The Stars Learning Center for Children with Autism and the Frida Kahlo Corporation at Miami Art Basel.
Keli is available to make your event unique and entertaining with her live painting done in real time from a blank canvas to completion. Capture your wedding, birthday or special event in this original and fun way.
