For 2017 New York Fashion Week (NYFW), fashion brand Timberland hosted a Women’s Styling Lounge at Arlo Soho Hotel. Attempting to create chic workplace options for the company, they unveiled its newest addition, Boot Company. The line features an array of ankle boots made with horween leather, exposed stitching, and buckles. Boot Company is the brand’s answer to having a stylish, yet durable boot while at work. Timberland takes the overall design of the shoes from women in the workplace during the 20th century. Modernizing the shoes to their aesthetic they have created shows meant to keep women on the move.
Participants could customize a pair of 6-inch boots at the Design Your Own station changing the tongue, heel, monogram, and tag. Using the hashtag, #DesignYourOwn, participants can upload and tag their customized creation. Guests received make-up touch-ups, refreshments, and phone chargers while enjoying the new styles of the collection. Media guests and patrons took selfies, enjoyed the space, and decided on what shoes they wanted. Women’s Styling Lounge represented the beginning of another successful brand under the brand’s lifestyle.
