Thomas Guttman has lived in Manhattan his whole life. He grew up playing violin and piano; then bass and trumpet; eventually making his way to drums and guitar. Early in life he wrote a lot of poetry but ended up taking a break from it. One New Years Day in 2015, Thomas had a very inspirational moment admiring the sunset, so inspired he wrote and since hasn’t stopped writing songs. Currently he is writing along with the tune of his guitar and piano.
Guttman is working on a debut EP to be released sometime this year. One of the songs on it is “Waitin’ (here) On You”, which is about a previous relationship he with a girl named Irina. Most creations erupt from a source of pain being expressed and vented through the creation. Thomas is constantly inspired by the relationships he is in and also writes about former loves and about his past.
“I value honesty above all else and use that in my writing.”
He has an upcoming show Rockwood Music Hall Stage 3. You can read more about that even and purchase tickets here. Thomas will be joined by Billy Pallis on guitar, Jennifer Fraser on bass, Zerlina on keys, and Clemens Grassmann on the drums.
